EcoComplex Facility

The Rutgers EcoComplex is a multi-institutional, multidisciplinary environmental center that harnesses research and education resources towards the development, and industrial application of innovative environmental/agricultural technologies.

       The EcoComplex and Greenhouse were visited by legislators in May 2017. See the video here.              

The EcoComplex is headquartered in a two-story, 32,000 square foot building just off highway 295 (exit 52A) and about 6 miles from exit 7 of the NJ Turnpike.

  • Education/Conference: The educational and conference functions of the EcoComplex are served by approximately 4200 square feet of instruction area. The facility includes; 120-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art presentation equipment, one 40-seat classroom, one 18-seat classroom, and large conference room.   • Technology Demonstration: A 1900 square foot, two-story scale-up lab is designed to allow adequate space for pilot scale demonstration units of new environmental technologies. Click here for more information.
     
  • Office Space: Along with laboratories and demonstration space there is also office space availble for rent through our business incubation program.
     
  • Research and Demonstration Greenhouse:
    • A state-of-the-art research and demonstration greenhouse is part of the EcoComplex facility. The greenhouse consists of a 3000 square foot nursery, a 46,000 square foot production house and a 10,000 square foot pole barn (headhouse). The energy needs of the facility are provided though the utilization of landfill gas from the adjacent landfill.
